ELLETT BROTHERS PROUDLY CONTRIBUTES TO YOUTH SHOOTING SPORTS
Chapin, S.C. – Continuing in its endeavors to cultivate and raise awareness in youth shooting sports,
Ellett Brothers proudly selected the Youth Shooting Sports Alliance (YSSA) to receive $25,000 raised
from the silent auction held in conjunction with the 2012 Annual Ellett Brothers Dealer Showcase in
Columbia, South Carolina.
Thanks to the generous vendor donations and dealer participation, Ellett Brothers has raised over
$68,000 since 2009 for the YSSA.

Sports Alliance to overcome many of the limiting factors to the growth of youth shooting sports programs

NASGW HONORS HEWITT GRANT FOR INDUSTRY LEADERSHIP

presented the Chairman's Award for Industry Leadership by the National Association of Sporting Goods
Wholesalers (NASGW) during the 2011 Industry Awards Ceremony held at the Grand Sierra Resort in
Reno, Nevada on November 1st of this year.
With over 450 NASGW members in attendance, Hewitt Grant was recognized for his distinguished

ELLETT BROTHERS GEARS UP FOR 8th ANNUAL SHOOTING DEALER SHOWCASE
Chapin, S.C. – Ellett Brothers continues to gear up for its 8th Annual Shooting Dealer Showcase at the
South Carolina State Fairgrounds in Columbia, South Carolina from January 5th to the 7th. Attendees
will experience a colossal assortment of the newest, most anticipated, and most innovative products the
Shooting Industry has to offer.
Due to the growing number of dealer attendees and new vendor additions, there will be 17 extra show
booths from the previous year. Four spacious exhibit buildings will be full of dealers from across America

This year's showcase will feature an entire row specifically devoted to everything tactical. Sponsored

UNITED SPORTING COMPANIES NAMES BRADLEY JOHNSON CEO
Chapin, SC – October 3rd, 2011 – United Sporting Companies (USC) announces that Bradley Johnson, 49,
has been named Chief Executive Officer. Johnson succeeds Hewitt Grant, 65, USC's chief executive officer
since 2002. Grant will assume the role of Chairman of the USC Board of Directors.
Johnson brings more than 25 years of consumer products and distribution experience to USC.
"Brad is exactly the right leader for USC," said Grant. "His extensive consumer products and distribution
background complement the efforts that USC is making in advancing its leadership position in the hunting,
shooting and marine distribution industry. His strong management experience will help shape USC as we
upgrade our technology platform and continue our nationwide expansion. Most importantly for anyone taking

Chapin, S.C. – The Shooting Industry Academy of Excellence honored Ellett Brothers with the 2011
Distributor of the Year and Citizenship Awards during their 20th annual ceremony held this year on July
22 at the Holiday Inn University Plaza in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
"We are very honored and pleased to once again be recognized by The Academy for our efforts. It was a
great tribute to our dedicated employees. This wouldn't be possible without the continuous support of our

The Ellett Brothers family has taken home the prestigious Distributor of the Year honor five out of the
past six years and embraces their second consecutive Citizenship Award with great gratitude.

recognized five out of the past six years motivates us to continue our efforts to be the best," Hewitt added.
On presenting the Distributor of the Year Award, The Academy recognized Ellett Brothers for continuing

INDUSTRY VETERAN JOSEPH MURRAY PASSES
Chapin, S.C. – Ellett Brothers is saddened to announce that Joseph "Joe" Murray, a well-known and highly respected shooting sports industry leader and veteran, died of natural causes on Tuesday,
February 22, 2011.
Murray was well known to hundreds of manufacturers, distributors and retailers for his passion
for the outdoor industry and the hunting and fishing sports. He served for years as President of
Ellett Brothers in Chapin, South Carolina and in executive positions at Southern Gun and Tackle
and Simmons Optics. He also served for several years as President of the NASGW and as a
member of the Board of Governors of the National Shooting Sports Foundation.
An avid hunter and fisherman, Joe was well-known for his love of team sports and for his
own skill in team and individual sports. He was co-captain of his Staples, Connecticut 1967
Championship High School Football Team and a competitor in Golden Gloves boxing
tournaments.
Jack Durrett, former CEO of Michaels of Oregon, remembered Murray as a fair and highly
professional businessman. "At Ellett, Joe would always give a company or a new product a
chance," Durrett said. "He'd always be one of the first in the business to give you an order, to
give you a chance. Then it was up to your company or your product to prove itself."
Murray's official start in the industry was as a salesman for Southern Gun and Tackle in Miami,
but Joe also said his real start in the business came at age 8 when he was hired as a "worm
counter" at the tackle shop of Eddie and Nancy Boland in Westport, Connecticut where he was
paid in odds and ends of fishing tackle.
Murray leaves his wife, Jean, son Joe, daughter Joan and his Lab, Sandy.
Donations in Joe's memory may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas
Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Chapin Public Library, 129 NW Columbia Avenue,
Chapin, SC 29036 requesting that outdoor books be purchased for the library in Joe's name.
DICK ROSENLIEB APPOINTED AS DIRECTOR OF MARKETING
Initiatives will include placing increased emphasis on brand building, public relations and customer satisfaction.
"An increased focus on marketing our business as well as helping our dealers become more successful will be a big win for everyone," states Chuck Walker, Senior VP of Sales and Marketing.
As a 20 year veteran of the outdoor industry, Dick's experience and personal relationships will allow him to have an immediate impact. The marketing department will focus on building stronger alliances with quality vendors and adding additional value to dealers.
"I encourage our vendors to contact Dick and look for ways to build on already successful partnerships and also take advantage of some unique opportunities," states Hewitt Grant, President and CEO.
Dick Rosenlieb has more than 20 years of industry experience. Dick's career includes experience in education, retail, and field operations. He spent 19 years of his career as an employee of the National Wild Turkey Federation. In his last position there, he served as the Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Prior to coming to Ellett Brothers, Dick was responsible for corporate partnerships and field operations for Safari Club International. For the past year, he served as the Director of Purchasing for Ellett Brothers.
The new distribution centers in Pittston, PA and Reno, NV with their respective sales offices will soon work in concert with the marketing department to provide greater opportunity for all dealers.
ROSE CLARK HIRED AS HUMAN RESOURCES VP
Rose Clark has joined the team as Vice President of Human Resources. For the bulk of her career she was the Head of Human Resources for Republic National Distributing Company, a multi-billion dollar beverage distributor. She has also served in HR roles with increasing responsibilities at Dell Computers, Schlumberger Ltd., and TRG Customer Solutions.
Ms. Clark has extensive experience in the areas of HR strategy, acquisitions and integrations, major software implementations, benefits planning, compensation, organization design, corporate communications and compliance. She also brings to the team experience in developing successful employee performance management and succession planning processes. She is adept at building training and education programs which focus on enhancing the core skills and career paths of employees in all functions and at all levels of the organization.
"Rose's deep HR experience, strong business acumen, and her strategic skills are tremendous assets for our company, our employees, and ultimately for our customers", said CFO Jim McCrudden. "We are very pleased to have her as a key member of our senior leadership team."
Rose has a BS in Business Management and is pursuing a MBA in Human Resources. She is a certified Senior Professional in Human Resources and a member of the National Society for Human Resource Management.
